The Prime Minister of Malaysia has announced the further extension of the nationwide Movement Control Order ("MCO") which will be ended on 12th May 2020 ("MCO Period"). I want to buy a house. What exactly I will be paying for, how much and when should I pay?

I have fully paid the housing loan, but I did not get the house grant until now. What should I do?

If the grant has been issued during the purchase of the house you must engage a lawyer to conduct discharge of charge (a process to release a grant from bank). A written confirmation letter must be obtained from the bank. Then a discharge form must be executed, stamped and registered at the land office so that the bank’s name on the grant can be removed. I have fully paid for the house years ago to developer by cash. Where is the house grant?

If the grant has been issued by the land office, it should be with the developer. A written confirmation letter must be obtained from the developer to know latest the status of the house. If the developer has confirmed that the title is already in their custody, you must engage a lawyer to proceed in preparing a transfer form to register your ownership at the land office so that the land office is able to issue a grant registered under your name.
